Lindsey Thompson, Owner

Much of my childhood was spent on a small farm north of Pittsburgh. At an early age, I  inherited from my family a deep connection to the land, animals and nature. I watched the land give us food and resources for clean living and eating. The feeling when I see or touch a plant, whether it is gardening in my back yard or tending to the many houseplants I  own, brings back memories of being outside all day until the sun set above me in the fields.

I have always enjoyed creating with my hands, I  draw, garden, plant, design, macrame, paint and I'm open to learning anything else that interests me. I  suppose I consider myself a crafter but I  feel it's way more than that.

For the future, even though my husband and I  still live in the city and plan to open up a real-life Ruby Flora plant shop, we hope to one day move away from the hustle and pursue a slower, more intentional lifestyle where we could connect with nature every day.

All in all, I  created this blog and shop to cater towards the houseplant-loving community that I  found online and on social media. My goal is to help spread knowledge, bring more beauty into your everyday life, and experience the magic of nature through plants and a community.

Ruby Flora About Me
“For what it’s worth... it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”
